Southern Gap High School

Project Overview

Since 2019, Terra Tech Engineering has worked alongside the Buchanan County Public School System to identify and develop the ideal site for a new consolidated high school. After selecting Southern Gap as the location, our team became part of the design-build group with Branch Builds and VMDO Architects, serving as Civil and Geotechnical Engineers for this transformative project.

The 58-acre campus is designed to house a 200,000-square-foot high school and career tech center, featuring state-of-the-art academic and athletic facilities. These include a horseshoe-shaped dugout football stadium, a soccer and track field, and baseball and softball fields. Our responsibilities included the design and permitting of all on-site utilities, erosion and sediment control measures, and stormwater management plans to ensure compliance and sustainability.

With construction currently underway, the project is on track for completion by August 2026.
